October 6th, 2006

Dear Families of Seven Holy Founders School:

They are finished! Four gorgeous bathrooms! Please come to our Open House and see the wonderful results of the Auction. The School will be open and refreshments served:

Saturday (5:30 - 6:30 pm), October 7th
Sunday (9:00 am - 1:00 pm), October 8th

We will be 'kicking off' the Bridge the Gap program with a variety of financial details available for your review.  This program was adopted by the School Board in lieu of a greater increase in tuition. If you have children in Catholic High Schools, you will be familiar with the request to help bridge the monetary gap between fees charged and the full cost of educating your child[ren]. Families who can afford to pay more of the full cost of educating their child[ren] are encouraged to make voluntary, tax-deductible donations in special envelopes. Given the current budget, these figures are:

This gap has historically been covered by a subsidy from the Parish. However, given declining enrollment (less tuition revenue), our School's need has risen to approximately $465,000 this year. It is noteworthy that school families contribute less than 15% of this total. And, about half of the school families do not contribute at all.  Please review the above figures, your family's budget, and determine how you can help. Every donation of time, talent, and/or treasure, will make a difference.

If you missed the School Board's Parish Forum, you will be able to see this presentation (unnarrated). We urge you to come, learn more about the financial status of the School, and share your suggestions. We can answer questions such as: Why is TWB mandatory?

Please join us in the Parish Hall on Saturday or Sunday, October 7th or 8th. We all value a Catholic education, but times are a changing' - how can we ensure the continued quality and strength of our Parish School?

Sincerely,

The Seven Holy Founders School Board
