Update March 22, 2012

This morning we received the great and wonderful news from Archbishop Carlson of his approval for our parish school to join Holy Cross Academy for the 2012-2013 school year. We are grateful for the support of His Grace, the Archbishop, in this matter and for the support of so many during the process of application to Holy Cross. We believe that our partnership in Holy Cross Academy will be a blessing to our parish. Presently, the three schools of Holy Cross Academy are on Spring Break this week. Once they return to school, school families will be advised of registration procedures and other pertinent information.

Update March 13, 2012

The Archdiocesan School Board has approved our parish’s request to join Holy Cross Academy. The request is now on the desk of Archbishop Carlson. The Archbishop’s approval is the final and necessary step to Seven Holy Founders officially joining Holy Cross Academy. His Grace returns to St. Louis from Rome tomorrow. As soon as we hear from the Archbishop we will provide another update.

Update March 1, 2012

The Holy Cross Academy Board Of Directors voted unanimously in favor of the request by Seven Holy Founders joining the Holy Cross Academy family, pending approval by the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The board concluded that above all, welcoming Seven Holy Founders was consistent with the mission and spirit of Holy Cross Academy. Further, the inclusion of Seven Holy Founders would at once deliver additional stability in the short term while promising outstanding promise for growth at all of our campus locations in the years to come. The unanimous vote of support by the board was advanced to the pastors of Annunciation, OLP and St. Michael, who unanimously accepted the recommendation and will now refer the proposal to the Archdiocese later this week. We hope to have official approval from the Archdiocese very soon.

Update, February 25, 2012

The Parish Finance Council met this past Tuesday to discuss our parish’s financial ability to participate in Holy Cross Academy. Upon review of documentation and after a hearty discussion, the Parish Administration along with the Parish Financial Council, Parish School Board, and Parish Pastoral Council have all agreed to apply for admission into Holy Cross Academy.

We have notified Holy Cross Academy of our desire to join them. The next steps in the process will include approval of our request by the Board of Directors of Holy Cross Academy, approval of the Archdiocesan School Board and ultimately the approval of Archbishop Carlson. We will continue to keep you posted on the progress of the process.

Please be advised that registration for Holy Cross Academy has not begun yet and all will be notified when this takes place.

We are excited to announce that nearly 90% of Parishioners who responded to our Parish-wide survey are in favor of Seven Holy Founders joining Holy Cross Academy for the upcoming school year.
A joint meeting of Admin and Finance, Parish Council and School Board was held on Friday, February 10th. During this meeting Father Don expressed his dedication to providing continuous communication while he is going through the final steps in the process to join Holy Cross Academy and anticipates quick approval.
