Upward Bound - St. Louis University High School is again sponsoring its summer academic program called “Upward Bound”. This program is designed for students of average to above average ability who could and should be doing better in school. This program for current 7th grade boys works on math, reading, grammar and composition, study skills, history, and public speaking. Tuition for this program is $460.00 and runs from June 10 - July 14. If you would like your 7th grade son to attend, please contact the School Office.
Lewis and Clark Institute offers tutoring to kids, K-12, in every academic subject. They are also offering one-on-one and small group tutoring in study skills and organizational skills. Sessions can be scheduled after school, in the evenings, or on weekends. Please call Pat Dugan or Sue McKeever at 918-1400 for more information. Parents as Teachers - All Mehlville School District residents with children prenatal to age three are eligible for free participation in the Mehlville Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.
Children begin learning even before birth and learn more during the first five years of life than at any other time. PAT is an early learning program that supports parents in their role as the first and most influential teachers of their children.
Participating families receive personalized home visits with a certified Parent Educator, periodic develop-mental screenings, newsletters and opportunities to attend parent/child work-shops and group meetings on parenting issues.
