May 2011

Seven Holy Founders students participated in the Ronald McDonald House 2011 Tab Top Pandemonium. The program collected a total of 13,400 lbs of Tab Tops. SHF School finished in 2nd Place in the Small Schools category with an average of 1.54 lbs of tabs per student for a total of 315.70 lbs of tops.

March 2011

Our students participated in a Math-A-Thon and raised $2,913.00 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. They have made many sick children happy.

February 2010

Lead by top fundraiser T.J. Hunkins (5th Grade), out students raised $1,207.75 for the National Children's Cancer Society.

November 2009

SHF students recently raised $129.85 for UNICEF through Trick or Treating, with another $100.25 through donations, for a total of $230.10 to UNICEF and $257.00 for the St. Louis Veterans’ Home in North St. Louis for their “Adopt A Vet” Program in honor of our two veterans, Mr. Joe Morice and Coach Alex DeMatteis.

April 2009: American Heart Association

Through "Jump Rope for Heart" and "Hoops for Heart", SHF students raised $940.00 to help support the great work of the American Heart Association.

March 2009: Math-A-Thon

Students raised $2,473.00 for the children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

April 2008: St. Patrick's Center

Students and their families donated over $1000 for the St. Patrick's Center, Missouri's largest provider of homeless services.

March 2008: Jump Rope for Heart

SHF students and their sponsors raised over $2,600.00 for the American Heart Association.

April 2007: Red Cross Ready Award

The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter presented the Red Cross Ready Award to Seven Holy Founders Catholic School for embracing emergency preparedness and reaching students, faculty, staff and parents with important Red Cross safety information during the 2006-2007 school year. Over the course of the year, the Red Cross has delivered presentations highlighting the importance of disaster preparedness and healthy nutrition to more than 150 students of all ages. In addition, the Red Cross will teach basic First Aid skills during the month of May. "Seven Holy Founders Catholic School is one of 15 schools in the St. Louis metropolitan area to receive the Red Cross Ready Award for their preparedness outreach this year," said Deane Adam, director of youth services for the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter. "We are especially grateful to Principal Richard Danzeisen and Ms. Jennifer Owens for welcoming the Red Cross into their school."

February 2007: Jump Rope for Heart

During Catholic Schools Week, our participating students earned a grand total of $2,236 for the American Heart Association. The money collected will help with the research of heart disease.

May 2006: Mission Carnival

The SHF Student Council presented a check to Father Doyle in the amount of $2,000.00 which were the proceeds of this year’s Mission Carnival. This money was given to our own St. Vincent DePaul Society to be used for those in need in our own community. Thanks to everyone who helped with this endeavor!!!

November 2005: Math-a-thon

Our students raised $3,867.13 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by participating in the Math-a-thon!!! Thanks to all for your support of such a worthy cause.

October 2005: Hoops for Heart Update

SHF School ranked 4th among the top schools in Missouri for our Hoops for Heart donations. Mrs. Owens, representing SHF, will be recognized by the American Heart Association at a dinner held at this year’s Missouri PE convention. Thank you again to all students, parents and parishioners for your support.

October 2005 - Tab Tops for Ronald McDonald House

On Saturday October 8th, Seven Holy Founders School brought over 350 pounds of tab tops to the Ronald McDonald House. This was part of their "Tab-a-Mania" weekend. We thank all those who helped out with this cause. On this weekend, the Ronald McDonald House receives 60 cents per pound of tabs. We helped raise over $210 thanks to the efforts of those who participated. A special thank you to Mr. Morice for overseeing this collection. SHF will continue collecting tab tops this school year.

September 2005 - "KOOL AID" for Hurricane Katrina Victims

SHF students, parents, faculty, staff and other member of the SHF School community sold Kool Aid and collected donations at the corner of Gravois and Rock Hill for victims of Hurrican Katrina. As of September 7th, 2005, over $50,000 had been collected. Congratulations to all those who volunteered their time, and thank you to all those who contributed. Once again, SHF proves itself to be a responsible and caring member of the community.

September 2005 - Parent Series offered again at SHF School

SHF is once again pleased to be hosting lectures about children and their learning styles. On the first Tuesday of each month a professional will discuss topics of interest to parents and teachers. The presentations are free and open to the public and held in the Parish Center at 7:00 pm. Please click here for details and to enroll.

April 2005 - Mission Carnival

The Student Council of SHF School presented a check to Fr. Doyle in the amount of $1,737, which will be sent to the Servite Missions in Africa. This money was raised through our annual Mission Carnival.

April 2005 - Hoops for Heart

SHF students raised $4,247.00 for the American Heart Association. The donations help fund research into heart disease and stroke and support the American Heart Associations’ public and professional education programs.

February 2005 - KIDS CARE

The KIDS CARE project, organized by Mr. Danzeisen, has now raised over $125,000 for disaster victims. A check was presented to Bishop Herman for Catholic Relief Services at Seven Holy Founders School. See http://www.shfschool.org/checkstory.htm for the whole story.

November 2004 - Tabs for the Ronald McDonald House

Seven Holy Founders School and PSR have started a drive to help the Ronald McDonald House. On Monday, November 8th, Ronald McDonald and Dan Harbaugh, Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House came and spoke to the students. They informed us how important it is to have a place for parents and patients to stay while undergoing hospital care or treatment. Our goal is to collect 500,000 tabs by the end of the school year.

September 2004 - Parent Series offered at SHF School

SHF is pleased to be a host site for informative lectures about children and their learning styles. On the first Tuesday of each month (beginning October 5th) a professional will discuss topics of interest to parents and teachers. The presentations are free and open to the public and held in the Parish Center at 7:00 pm. We ask that you register as a minimum number of attendees are needed.

The series is sponsored by the SHF School Board and the St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association, Inc. Some topics are specific to learning disabled students, but most have a wide range of applicability. The presentations are targeted to an audience of teachers and parents. If you have questions about parenting/teaching techniques and/or about the developmental appropriateness of a child’s behaviors, these interactive presentations will be most helpful.
